The OC Housing Specialist® Ultimate Guide to Buying, Selling, & Renting in Southern California

2016: OC ranks Top Tier for Safest Cities in America

Two OC cities, known to be affordable and family-friendly, have been ranked in the top 10 safest cities in America, according to Neighborhood Scout. Neighborhood Scout provides research data about cities and school districts. Each year they compile a list of the Safest 100 Cities in the United States. Several years running, OC has snapped up top tier placing on the list!

Rancho Santa Margarita, located in the eastern foothills of south county, is now ranked the third safest city in America with a population over 25,000. This charming city, commonly abbreviated as RSM, boasts immaculate nighttime stargazing opportunities, ample hiking and equestrian trails, as well as one of the county’s largest campgrounds. Residents are often found walking their beloved furry friends around the city’s central lake at dusk.

Aliso Viejo, located in the western foothills of south county near the beach, is now ranked the tenth safest city in America with a population over 25,000. This community is a precious gem to be found with various sports parks and playgrounds, as well as a wide variety of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment venues. The weather is typically cooler than the inland foothills, with a gentle marine fog layer rolling in most evenings.

As a resident of both cities during different times in my life, I have firsthand knowledge and experience within both of these communities! If you are looking to find your perfect city match in OC and are gathering information in your search, I’d be happy to help.
